Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to establish the parameters for research projects involving human subjects that comply with federal regulations, 45 CFR 46 (2026). Human subjects include, but are not limited to, ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ÊÓƵ students, faculty, staff, or administrators. This policy applies to all research conducted at ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ÊÓƵ, whether it be by an internal member or organization of the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ÊÓƵ community or an outside individual, group, organization, or agency.

Scope

This policy applies to all employees and students of ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ÊÓƵ.

Policy Statement

It is the policy of the Kansas City Kansas Community College that all research projects which involve human subjects shall be subject to review and approval by an appropriate ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ÊÓƵ Institutional Review Board (IRB) prior to project initiation and without respect to funding or the source of funding.
